Bio
Logan Edwards is an American composer, conductor, educator, recording engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is passionate towards the world of wind band and strives to help it grow so the medium can reach every ear across the globe.
As a cultivator of the world's next best and brightest, Logan works as a teacher of all things music and music technology, from beginning band class to on-field recording engineering. He is passionate towards his goal of helping every student he interacts with grow in respects that transfer beyond music and into their professional lives.
Logan's music is a result of this drive, but also stems from the beautiful world we all call home and the current events that we live through. Each work has its own meaning and purpose, written to fit. Stories and emotions are of special significance, and a good one may inspire a whole new work!
Apart from teaching and writing, Logan is an avid ludomusicologist, with a special interest in the music of FINAL FANTASY and its long-time composer Nobuo Uematsu. The works of Uematsu, as well as other notable gaming composers like Jeremy Soule, Koji Kondo, and Masashi Hamauzu, contribute a great deal to the current pop culture sphere as the generations shift over. Logan takes note of this shift through the multitude of orchestrated arrangement tours of various gaming series across the world, and uses this in both his compositions and his teaching.
Logan attained his Master's in Composition and Wind Conducting at Oklahoma City University, where he studied with Drs. Edward Knight and Matthew Mailman. His Bachelor’s in Music Education was received from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, with Dr. Anne Watson. He is a member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, the Society for the Study of Sound and Music in Games, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
